I am Lee, Chia-Yun, an exchange student from NTNU (National Taiwan Normal University). I came to Yamagata from a sub-tropical area. At first Yamagata is an strange(unknown) city for me, but when I live and explore here, I am attracted by the green and abundant place. I hope to make everyone know the beauty of Yamagata by words and photos.

Have a wonderful day in Yamagata

When you go to Yamagata, you must visit Zao! During spring, summer and autumn, you can go on the mountain to visit "The witch's eye", if you are lucky enough, you will see the sunshine falls on the jewelry green volcano lake Okama. The beauty of Okama must make you feel fabulous. And during winter, you can go on the mountain to do skiing, and take ropeway to see "Ice Monster", which is consist of coniferous forest and snow. It's splendid.

Agoya is a native ramen shop in Yamagata. It's not big, but full of traditional Japanese shop style. The unique soup is made by the fish from "Fly Island" in Yamagata. The ramen which I recommend is grilled pork ramen (Which is full of pork) and tsukemen(noodles and soups separated) with light sesame and hot-spring boiled egg. It's so delicious that you will want to come back to visit again and again.

S-PAL is a shopping mall which is near Yamagata Station. It is great because of the location and various shops such as Starbucks, fast-food shop and pharmacy, etc. And also shops for clothes, books and CDs. The whole second floor is full of souvenir shops and wines. Before you leave, it will be the best place to buy things.
