Yamagata Museum of Art / 山形美術館

Concierge / 岡部信幸副館長

The Yamagata Museum of Art has continued to conduct art surveys and accumulate artworks since its establishment in August 1964, and the museum collection currently contains over 2000 works which comprise our Japanese and Oriental Art, Regional Art (art relating to Yamagata prefecture or works of local artists) and French Art collections. We also organize special exhibitions on a variety of themes, conduct traveling exhibitions, and make our exhibition space available to outside groups and individuals as part of our effort to be an open and accessible museum that contributes to the promotion of art and culture in Yamagata prefecture and the lifelong learning of its residents.
